betty is a boy, and ziggy stardust is a girl who is an alien.
ziggy stardust falls in love with betty. betty gets ziggy knocked up, and they go on MTV's hit show "teen mom". after struggling with her feelings about pregnancy, ziggy gets addicted to "stardust" which is a conspicuous white powder not too different from cocaine. however, stardust gives you amplified alien and rock n roll powers. ziggy gives some stardust to a girl who wants to get skinny to look like the women on TV, but then the girl overdoses and dies. ziggy feels bad, but only because it was a waste of stardust.
betty is worried about ziggy but is too wrapped up in his DJ career and facebook page (even though he hates facebook). betty is a prototypical non-conformist. he enjoys sulking, making his hair elegantly scruffy, dubstep, and pontificating to his mom. betty dumps ziggy because he "likes being a loner" and must get away from the lying, back-stabbing, hip, vicious, and vile humans he is surrounded by. but betty is a huge hipstercrite.
ziggy is now alone and the world is her enemy. she begins to stay awake at night plotting the ways she will destroy the universe and only save those that understand what it is like to be an alien. she decides she wants her fempire (female empire, or in this case alien-female empire) to strike back. she wants an army of one-eyed one horn flyin purple people eaters to come together and commit rock and roll suicide after they destroy the planet. she is empowered!
ziggy is not empowered. ziggy is not even real, nor is betty. aliens are not real, stardust does not exist and the pale girl underneath the ziggy stardust alter-ego is scared and alone. when she commits suicide there is no rock n roll glory, there is no epic ending. betty finds out that ziggy killed herself. betty is so upset that ziggy is getting more attention and he decided to off himself too, so that people will comment on his facebook wall for once.
the end.
